Build the audience before you build the game and you will never launch into silence.
Pre-launch community building means growing a Discord server, subreddit, mailing list, or social media following around your game long before it ships. The goal is to have hundreds or thousands of engaged people ready to buy, review, and share your game on day one. Discord has become the default hub for this -- developers create servers where fans discuss the game, share fan art, report bugs in demos, and feel like insiders. The most effective pre-launch communities give members genuine influence through polls on design decisions, beta access, and direct conversation with the dev. It transforms marketing from a broadcast into a relationship.
