The RPG lane where stats matter, but so do your hands.
Action RPGs blend character progression with real-time combat, asking players to care about buildcraft and execution at the same time. Some emphasize precision and animation commitment. Others emphasize crowd-clearing, loot explosions, or weapon variety. The point is that combat is felt in the fingers, not only in the menu.
Example
Diablo, Kingdom Hearts, Monster Hunter, Nier: Automata, Elden Ring, and The Witcher 3 all sit under the action-RPG umbrella even though they express it in very different ways.
Why it matters
Action RPGs became one of the most flexible genres in the medium because they can absorb spectacle, loot addiction, open worlds, co-op, or difficulty obsession without snapping.
