Games that make your brain do the work instead of pretending every clue is the same as solving it.
Detective games revolve around evidence gathering, contradiction spotting, timeline reconstruction, and deduction that ideally the player actually performs. The genre gets interesting when it stops treating mystery as cutscene filler and starts making logic itself the mechanical loop. Good detective games make you feel clever. Great ones make you feel briefly obsessed.
