Post
The broken prince arc turned all the way up until it becomes almost operatic.
Dimitri is memorable because his collapse is not cosmetic. Three Houses lets him get ugly, obsessive, and frightening before it even considers the possibility of recovery, which gives the character an intensity the genre often talks about but rarely commits to.
Example
His post-timeskip design did half the marketing work by itself because players could tell at a glance that the boyhood idealism was gone.
Why it matters
Dimitri matters because JRPG character arcs land harder when they are willing to look genuinely damaged.
