Scott Cawthon's Five Nights at Freddy's turned a pizzeria night shift into a horror phenomenon. You sit in a security office watching camera feeds as possessed animatronic characters creep toward you. You can close doors but have limited power. The tension of checking cameras, listening for footsteps, and rationing electricity created jump-scare horror that was perfect for streaming. FNAF spawned dozens of sequels, a massive lore universe that fans obsessively decoded, mountains of fan art and fan games, a book series, and eventually a Hollywood movie. Cawthon built an empire from a game made in Clickteam Fusion.
