A mouse-controlled Japan-only oddball that feels like Nintendo prototyping party-game chaos in miniature.
Mario & Wario has players guiding a blinded Mario, Peach, or Yoshi to safety with the Super Famicom Mouse after Wario drops a bucket or other nonsense on their head. It is a tiny idea stretched elegantly through puzzle levels, and it feels exactly like the kind of playful hardware-specific experiment Nintendo once made constantly.
Example
The whole pitch is basically 'what if Wario's trolling became a control scheme,' which is silly enough to work and sharp enough to stay memorable.
Why it matters
It matters because it captures Nintendo's old willingness to build fully official software around a single strange input gimmick. It also helped define Wario's sabotage-first personality.
