Nintendo turned the Minis line into an amiibo delivery system and still got a decent little puzzle game out of it.
amiibo Challenge is lightweight software, but the toy-routing logic remains pleasing and the figurine tie-in is at least mechanically integrated. It feels like a product of peak amiibo-era Nintendo, for better and worse.
Example
Different amiibo unlocking different toy characters gave the release a collector-bait shape that now reads as pure mid-2010s Nintendo strategy.
Why it matters
It matters because it shows how adaptable the Mini-Mario puzzle framework was, even when yoked to a merchandising push.
