Post
The genre where the entire point is understanding the rule well enough to break it beautifully.
Puzzle games strip conflict down to problems, rules, and insight. Their best moments do not come from raw execution but from recognition: seeing the shape of a system differently and suddenly making the impossible look obvious. The genre can be abstract, narrative, spatial, or word-driven as long as the core pleasure is a solved thought.
Example
Tetris, Baba Is You, The Witness, Picross, and Patrick's Parabox all attack the brain from completely different angles while remaining unmistakably puzzle games.
Why it matters
Puzzle games are design honesty in concentrated form. When one works, it works because the rules are sharp, the communication is clean, and the insight actually matters.
